Dear colleagues, friends
Many aspects of our lives have been in a completely new state of functioning for a long time, but we still function. Some completely new adjustments were and are still needed. In this new light of functioning, we are not able to organize our regular annual meeting because, as healthcare professionals, prevention and health protection are our top priority. But that does not mean that our hands are tied.
Encouraged by the recently completed first virtual, online European Congress of Physiatrists, held from September 19-23, 2020. we would like to present and make available to all colleagues a part of the lectures and presentations from the Children's Habilitation and Rehabilitation session through the website of our Association. These are the works of colleagues from the Department of Child Rehabilitation and Habilitation of the Institute for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation "Dr. Miroslav Zotović", Banjaluka, who were participants in the Congress.:
1. Đurđica Stevanović-Papić, Samra Pjanić: CONSERVATIVE TREATMENT OF SCOLIOSIS OF DIFFERENT ETIOLOGIES
2. Gabriela Mirković, Samra Pjanić, Đurđica Stevanović-Papić: EFFICACY OF SEAS THERAPY IN ACTIVE SELF-CORRECTION OF PATIENTS WITH AIS
3. Iva Papić: MARTE MEO METHOD

5. Dobrinka Dragic, Samra Pjanic, Đurđica Stevanovic-Papic: SCOLIOSIS IN CHILDREN WITH CEREBRAL PALSY IN RELATION TO CEREBRAL PALSY TYPES AND GROSS MOTOR FUNCTION CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (GMFCS)
With the desire to contribute in this way to our education and daily work with patients, we thank our colleagues for their work and effort and for making their works available to all our members.
We hope to see you soon and socialize and exchange knowledge and experiences.
Sincerely,
Doc dr sc med. prim. dr Tatjana Nožica- Radulović

As representatives of BiH, physical medicine and rehabilitation residents Dr. Samra Pjanić and Dr. Dunja Milićević (ZFMR "Dr. M.Zotović") participated in the European summer school for residents in Marseille, France, which lasted from July 1. until 10.07.2015. The summer school was attended by 30 residents from almost all parts of Europe (Italy, Malta, Spain, Ireland, Great Britain, Portugal, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Greece, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina).
The topics of this year's School lectures were related to the analysis of body posture and gait, motor disability in humans, rehabilitation and neurophysiology. Full-day lectures are organized in the form of morning and afternoon sessions. The lecturers were domestic and foreign, mostly professors (FMR and neurology specialists, presidents of the UEMS PRM Board and the European Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine, etc.).
Among the various professional topics was an interesting lecture by the American journalist Gary Burkhart, who in his several-hour presentation talked about how to appear at the congress and become noticed after presenting your work, be noticed, interesting, (not) answer all the questions and in the end stay remembered as an interesting presenter. The next 20th FMR European Congress in Estoril (near Lisbon), Portugal, which will be held from April 23 to 28, 2016, was also promoted. The President of the Congress organization, Jorge Lains, invited residents to actively participate in the same as possible. .
Given the length of lectures during the week, the weekend was reserved for seeing the many sights that this historically significant port city has to offer.
The professional team consisting of Dr. Boškić-physiatrist, Dr. Glogovac Kosanović-specialist, N.Jeremić, M.Cupić-diploma in nursing and V.Sarajlić-physiotherapist from the institute "Dr. M.Zotović" from 18.5.-20.5.2015 . participated in a three-day workshop - "Intratecal Baclofen pump in the treatment of spasticity and chronic pain" which was organized at the University Rehabilitation Institute Soca, Ljubljana. The workshop was organized under the auspices of the Medtronic company, and the lecturers are members of the Slovenian ITB team headed by Dr. Klemen Grabljevec, physiatrist. Through lectures and practical work, clinical knowledge about spasticity and chronic pain was renewed, and the primary focus of the workshop was aimed at showing all aspects of working with the ITB pump through practical work with patients, from patient selection, implantation techniques, patient monitoring with a built-in pump, pump programming, complications and their resolution. The obtained information, i.e. skills, led to the improvement of our knowledge and expertise and opened up the possibility of dialogue with colleagues from other specialties about the application of the Baclofen pump in our area as well.

At the beginning of this year, in addition to the adult patients we included in the program, a four-day physical therapy program was organized for children suffering from cystic fibrosis, considering that physical therapy is one of the most important treatment modalities for this disease.

The lecturers were Louise Lannefors PhD, physiotherapist from CF Center at Ringhospitalet Copenhagen University Hospital, Denmark and Maria Cecilia Rodriguez Hortal, physiotherapist from CF Center Stockholm-Sweden. The lecture was attended by 3 physiotherapists, educated in the field of pulmonary rehabilitation, and one doctor from our institution..
The main topic of the lecture was certainly physical therapy, as one of the modalities in the treatment of cystic fibrosis, but the importance of other aspects of treatment, such as drug therapy, proper nutrition, psychosocial presentation of the disease, was reiterated. One of the topics was inhalation therapy and its proper use. The greatest emphasis was placed on the importance of cleaning the airways and the methods we use for that purpose. The lecture was followed by a practical presentation of the methods that were discussed orally (Application of PEP mask, HiPEP method,…).
