Association of Physiatrists of Republic of Srpska (APRS) is a specialist association founded in 2000 at the initiative of Mihajlo Stefanovski, PhD. The first president of the Association was prim. dr Veselin Đaković. From 2005 to 2010, the President of the Association was the Nataša Tomić, MD MSc. Prim. dr. Vera Aksentić was elected for the president at the inaugural meeting of the Association in 2010. In March 2015, at the regular assembly of UFRS, prof. dr sci. med. Tatjana Bućma was elected for the president.
In April 2019, at the regular Assembly of UFRS, Tatjana Nožica Radulović, PhD.
The headquarter of UFRS is in the Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation "Dr Miroslav Zotović" in Banja Luka. The Association was established because of the necessity of establishing good communication between healthcare professionals, patients and the public as well as cooperation with other medical associations and societies in the Republic of Srpska, environment and foreign countries.
Through organized activities of its members, the Association aim is to promote and enhance the development of physical medicine and rehabilitation as a major medical branch in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of patients in order to improve the quality of life. Major goals and objectives of the Association are continuing professional education of its members, encouraging scientific research, publishing technical and scientific publications in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Our advantage is a holistic approach to the person in the context of the environment and social inclusion. Our strength can be seen in the generations to come, which are ready to accept the challenges in a comprehensive rehabilitation and allow its duration in time to come.
Working groups of the Association are: the Assembly, the Steering Committee and the Scientific Committee.
