Education in order to provide quality services

04.02.2013.

Aware that the improvement of knowledge means better service for patients in The Institution of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation “Dr. Miroslav Zotovic“ department devotes a lot of attention to the continuing education of medical professionals and associates. This is supported by two important educational programs that were held at the Institute last weekend.
Marte Meo training is intended for professional rehabilitation team of the Children's Division and is significant because it is a program that is accepted in developed countries today as the standard program in case of difficulties in communicating, especially in working with the children with multiple disabilities. Marte Meo allows the stimulation of social and emotional development "on its own" in everyday situations. Lecturer is Silvija Phillipps Reichherzer, a prominent expert in this field and Marte Meo supervisor from Croatia.
Other education, called Mulligan Concept, is a sequel to education held in October last year and it is intended for physical therapists. The training was conducted by Sakis Adamidis, a certified Mulligan coach from Greece. Results in the treatment of joints, structures outside the joint, their mobility and functions are achieved by Mulligan concept. The treatments are mostly aimed at reducing pain, catalyzing joint mobility and stability. While performing Mulligan concept, therapist is always lead with the patient's pain in order to make all the movements and mobilization completely painless. Therefore, the technique is non-invasive and highly applicable in various painful conditions with a couple of absolute contraindications.
